 As I lived in Korea for more than 20 years and being educated for 15 years, I am so familiar with quite atmosphere of class. I think it is based on confucianism that is imposed in Korean society. Most of conversation or meetings are mainly leeded by older person and younger person would agree it only because they are young. I think it is very bad atmosphere whereve in science or daily life, but it is common. The atmosphere to discuss is needed. The superior commands, the inferior accepts is not good. In the class in UNIST, the reason why students are quite is almost because of using English. Discussing with no problem using English is quite difficult to student.
