Key mechanism for regulating gene expression in response to environmental changes.
DNA methylation/acetylation, histone modification
<My question>
-In some articles uploaded or sent by Jong, horses (ex. thoroughbred horse) were used as a sample for experiment. Is there any reason they used horses as a sample for their experiment, or any benefit of horses compared to other animal models such as mouse models?
It’s because horses are very expensive, so it may be difficult to analyze horse genome. However, many people bet on horse racing. To condition a hose for a race, they tried to find a horse that runs faster, by using their genome sequencing.
<Presentation by Jeongeun>
-The topic is ‘influence of HLA on human partnership and sexual satisfaction’.
-HLA is human leucocyte antigen, and it is related to perception of olfactory stimuli.
-There are two types of HLA, HLA classⅠ/Ⅱ.
My question
She said, HLA is related to odor perception, but I think there are no significant effect in the result, and the difference between the results might be an influence of the question people received.
