  The traditional ‘one-size-fits-all’ medical approach is based on epidemiological studies. This method makes a wrong diagnosis frequently, because each person has his/her distinct genetic background. In other words, some medicines work only for some of human, but this could cause side effects or nothing to others. To improve these problem, modern medical approach moves forward personalized medicine procedures that decide optimal medical treatments customized to the individual patients based on their genomic information.

 

  Even though personalized medical treatment can provide the best way, the price of genome sequencing is a pinpoint to limit of propagating this method. If the sequencing technology is improved and then the cost is dramatically decreased, market size of the personalized medical treatment will be bigger. Then, market size of the sequencing technology is increased well.
