<p>There are hypothesis-driven and hypothesis-generating(data-driven) approaches.</p>

<p>Both approaches is useful and compensate each other.</p>

<p>However,&nbsp;in my opinion, there are limitations.</p>

<p>First, it does not tell us the causality. It tells us the correlation. So we need to find the causal gene.</p>

<p>Second, the gene does not tell everything.</p>

<p>To solve these promblems, we have to research multiple types of data such as protein, mRNA and metabolite</p>

<p>and then integrate all together to interpret the biological system.</p>
