Genetics : study about genome variation and its effect

presentation summary :

There are hypothesis-driven and hypothesis-generating(data-driven) approaches.

Both approaches is useful and compensate each other.

However, in my opinion, there are limitations.

First, it does not tell us the causality. It tells us the correlation. So we need to find the causal gene.

Second, the gene does not tell everything. Actually, protein structures are well preserved than DNA sequence.

To solve these promblems, we have to research multiple types of data such as protein, mRNA and metabolite

and then integrate all together to interpret the biological system.
