presentation by 김건우

Why not in Korea?

He think 'mind' and 'accent' are the casues.

Koreans be afraid to ask question.

He thought that accent affects mind.

'mindset'

Investment on the Basic science

accent can induce racism. asian accent can make the theories not understandable.

Nobel Prize It's all about contribution

Epigenomics

Epi(outside)

Reversible DNA and Histone modification and RNA interference -> causing chage of gene expression

histone acetylation/methylation

Diseases related to the histone modification

How do we study?

1. Bisulfite sequencing : treat cytosine with bisulfite changing it to be uracil ! but leaves methylcytosine unaffected. see with cytosine is changed by sequencing the DNA before and after the bisulfite treatment

2. Nonmethylated specific PCR

Proteomics

Phosphorylation is the switch of proteins. and it requires energy

Proteins - a helix + b sheet for stable structure + coils to bind others

Coils are to bind and to attack.

Glycosylation

Sulfation

How?

1. 2D SDS PAGE

2. Mass spectrometer

Interactome

1. Protein Microarrays

2. IP
