There must be one more factor for the Novel Prize. Korea spend very little money on the basic science comparing to other countries which have the Novel Prize winners. For example, the Institute for Basic Science in Korea was built in 2011. The similar institution is RIKEN in Japan and it has provided lots of research on basic science since 1917. These differences in the investment and history must be responsible for the difference in the number of Novel Prize winners.
