Principles of Bioinformatics
Definition
Bioinformatics is an interdisciplinary field that develops software tools for understanding biological phenomena. It combines computer science, statistics, and mathematics to study biological data. Goals of Bioinformatics are development of new algorithms and software tools for identifying expression, interaction and structure of biomolecules, such as gene and protein, from massive data.
