genomics:
an interdisciplinary field of biology focusing on the structure, function, evolution, mapping, and editing of genomes.
genomes:
an organism's complete set of DNA, including all of its genes as well as its hierarchical, three-dimensional structural configuration.

DNA:
-self replicable
-two complementary strands(double helix)
-sugar-phosphate backbone
-4 types of nucleotide: A, T, C, G
-complementary base-pairing: A-T, C-G
-genetic information of living things

Chromosomes:
-human has 46 chromosomes
-long threads of DNA(and protein)
-carry genetic information of cell
-information determines what proteins are made
-made up of many gens

genes: genes are segments of chromosomes that contain the code
required to direct the manufacture of a polypeptide or RNA molecule
